Business travel by plane: how can I keep busy on a flight?

Do you need to fly for a business trip, either in France or elsewhere? Depending on the length of your journey and if there's a layover, you may be wondering what to do during your flight. Nemea Appart'Hôtel has a few tips for making the most of your journey.

Can I work on the plane during a business trip?

If you want to make the most of your flight time to work, there are best practices to follow. First of all, think about asking your employer for a work laptop, if they haven't already allocated one to you.

To work efficiently during your journey, you'll need to have all the documents you might need with you. So, copy the files you need to your PC or a USB stick. However, ask your employer for permission, and avoid doing this with confidential files.

What you'll get done on the plane will depend on the reason for your business trip, but you could, for example:

  • Remind yourself of the main details concerning the customers you're going to meet (industry, last services carried out for them, etc.)
  • Read through your PowerPoint presentation if you're giving a training course
  • Prepare your report on your business trip if you're on your return leg

Take advantage of the flight to relax

If the journey is particularly long, you can use this time to rest as much as possible. This will enable you to be more effective when dealing with your customers, colleagues, and other potential contacts. Sleep for an hour or two, read a work or non-work magazine, watch a film... there are plenty of things to do to help you relax.
