Nancy's gems to discover on foot

As one of the major cities in the Grand Est region, Nancy is renowned for its architecture, particularly from the Baroque and Art Nouveau periods. One of the city's must-sees is Place Stanislas, which is home to superb medieval palaces. When it comes to walking routes, take a map and plan your own itinerary, and be sure to include these sites:

  • the Governor's Palace and the Ducal Palace
  • Hôtel de la Monnaie and, not far from there, the Arc Héré and Place Stanislas
  • Cordeliers Church and Saint Epvre Church
  • the Porte Désilles, the Porte de la Craffe, and the Citadelle are just a few minutes' walk away
  • for Art Nouveau, visit the Villa Majorelle, the Maison Huot, and the Villa Bergeret
  • And finally, for foodies, stop off at L'Épicerie, a must for anyone who loves Lorraine specialities, or try the fabulous pastries at Maison Macaron.
